Helen Broad McCaffrey

With profound gratitude for the chance to bask in her light, the Family of Helen Small Broad McCaffrey announces her passing on April 2, 2025 in Dundas, Ontario, just shy of her 91st birthday. Despite losing two husbands and two sons, Helen had a superpower to be kind and to help others before they even realized they needed help. She shone like human sunshine on everyone in her orbit, spreading a message of kindness, good humour, positivity and inclusion. Luckily for us, all 8 of Helen’s grandchildren and all 8 great-grandchildren happened to inherit her kindness superpowers and will carry on with her valuable work. Huge thanks to Drs. Singh, Nash, B.Alton, Roberts, Horgan-Bell, Spano, and Collyer for keeping her healthy for so long, to the kind staff of Aberdeen Gardens and most especially to the care team at Maple Lane, Wentworth Lodge for your compassion, expertise and genuine affection for Helen. She loved you. Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter’s Cathedral Basilica, London Ontario, Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11 a.m. Visitation and Reception following Mass (details to follow). Private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider a charitable donation to St. Peter’s Cathedral - St. Vincent de Paul hampers program, or St. Peter’s Cathedral - Restoration Fund.
