Angelo Cosentino

January 24, 1956 — May 29, 2026

With deep sorrow, Angelo (Ange) passed away on Friday May 29th 2026 after navigating the various effects of Parkinson’s Disease and bowel cancer.

Most loving father of Andrea (Malcolm) and Deanna (Jeremy), and proud papa of Ben, Ella, Abigail, Cecilia, and Isla, Ange passed away with his loving daughters by his side on at age 70.

Ange was lovingly and consistently supported, particularly in his final years, by former wife Georgina Cosentino and dear friend Louis Canella. More than cousins, Mike Fazzari was a devoted and lifelong friend to the very end. Cousin to Joe, Sharon, Patrick Fazzari and family; brother to Catherine, Joe, and Connie, and uncle and great uncle to their families.

Born in January 1956, Ange grew up in the North End of Hamilton and attended St. Lawrence Elementary School, Cathedral High School, Sir John A. MacDonald High School, McMaster University, and graduated with honours from Mohawk College.

An avid athlete, Ange participated in both team and individual sports including football, baseball, hockey, frisbee football, track and field, and marathons. One of his proudest sporting moments was filling in for an injured teammate in the 4x100m relay, beating the city record and taking them to the provincial championships.

His love of music led to a career in radio at CHML/CKDS/Y95, followed by time in television at CTS. After retiring from a dedicated career behind the scenes in media, Ange continued to help others in his work at Walmart and HWCDSB.

Selfless in all endeavours, Ange donated blood and platelets for decades, impacting the lives of countless strangers. He was a dedicated and committed volunteer with the following: MS Society of Hamilton; St Joseph’s Hospital; music man for the Hamilton Synchronised Swimming Club; Road to Hope; and various city, provincial, and federal Liberal political campaigns. Through his involvement with Our Lady of Lourdes parish, roles included lector, communion to the sick, and Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus.

Loving and devoted father to Andrea and Deanna, he bought them strawberries in the winter and donuts before early morning synchro practices. He drove his girls to school, countless practices, friends’ houses, and road trips across Canada. He loved unconditionally, and was their biggest cheerleader and encourager, supporting them near and far, no matter what.

As a loving and proud papa, he visited Vancouver and Australia to meet and spend time with his grandchildren Ben and Ella, and always looked forward to spending time and making memories with them on their visits back to Canada. Having lived with his granddaughters Abigail, Cecilia, and Isla in his final years, he spent time with and made them breakfast before school, treated them to pizza day lunches, pushed them for hours in swings, and loved hearing their little feet running around and laughing in the rooms above his.

Ange, loving father, proud papa, and a quietly extraordinary man, will be missed by everyone who knew him.

His life will be celebrated with a Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church (620 Rymal Rd East, Hamilton) on Friday June 5th at 11am. Reception immediately following.

To honour their extraordinary work, and to support future recipients of their care, donations in Ange’s name can be made to the Cancer Assistance Program (https://cancerassist.ca/ways-to-donate/donate-online/) and Emmanuel House Hospice (https://goodshepherdcentres.ca/donate-to-emmanuel-house/).
