It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Beverley Lever, 88, on December 7, 2025, at her home in St. Catharines, surrounded by the love of her family.
Bev lived a full and vibrant life. She could often be found tending to her garden, knitting baby sweaters or blankets, shopping with one of her grandkids, or setting off on an Allegany adventure during one of her legendary girls’ weekends with her daughters and sister. Her warmth, humour, and unmistakable spirit were constants throughout her life.
For more than 30 years, Bev dedicated herself to her work as the head cook at Linhaven long-term care facility. During that time, she formed many cherished friendships and created countless memories. She was deeply loved by her coworkers and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Fiercely independent yet endlessly kind, caring, and generous, Bev kept everyone on their toes with her quick wit and unforgettable comments. To her family, she was “Nanny”—an extraordinary grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who was always ready to help, support, and love without hesitation.
Predeceased by her loving parents (Rolston Earl Wattam – 1972 and Catherine Wattam (Savage) – 2003). Bev was a devoted mother to Ronda Moreau (Phil) and Roxanne Lacas (Tom/Doodie). Predeceased and much loved by brothers-in-law Art Platakis, John Cameron, and Chris Anderson. Bev is survived by many nieces and nephews who also carry fond memories.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Dr. Tatzel, whose more than 40 years of dedicated care, kindness, and unwavering support meant so much to Bev and to all who loved her. They also offer sincere thanks to Dr. Dadras, whose gentle, compassionate care during the final months of her life brought comfort and reassurance when it was needed most. A special and heartfelt thank-you goes to Seanie, whose extraordinary compassion, presence, and kindness during Bev’s final week brought immeasurable comfort. Her support will never be forgotten. Bev’s family would also like to thank Ron and Mark and all the staff at the Merritton community pharmacy for all their help over the years, and especially in the last few months.
A celebration of Beverley’s life will be held in the new year, with details to be announced.
Bev’s legacy of love, strength, and generosity lives on in the many lives she touched. She will be forever remembered and deeply missed.
