Jones, (Pearl) Marguerite Rosarie Paschael (née McMahon)
May 17, 1929 – December 5, 2025
Pearl Jones passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa in Dundas, Ontario on December 5, 2025 in her 97th year.
Born in Easkey, County Sligo, Ireland.
Pearl is reunited with her beloved husband, William (Bill) Jones (deceased 1988). She was a loving mother to Stewart, Brian (Elia) and Ruth and mother-in-law to Jennifer and Jean-Marc. She adored her cherished grandchildren, Gillian (Karl), Ryan (Stefanie) André (Emily), Aaron, Ethan, Evan and her great grandchildren Max, Angelina and JoJo.
Pearl was the second daughter of Francis and Marion McMahon. She is survived by her siblings, Irene Knibbs (late Michael), Carmel McMahon both in England, Father Desmond McMahon in United States, Father Seamus McMahon in Australia and Kathleen McMahon-Yuda (late Michael) in Hamilton, Ontario as well as a niece, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Pearl is predeceased by her loving sister Josephine McMahon and brothers Sean and Dermot McMahon along with many beloved brothers in law and sisters in law.
Pearl is predeceased by her lifelong friends Mary Roberts, Jean Martyniuk, Peggy Jones, Maureen McDonaugh, Thelma Palmer and Pat McMullen.
Pearl is survived by her dear friend Dorothy Denison and others.
Pearl and Bill emigrated from England to Canada on St. Patrick’s Day March 17, 1957. They arrived at the Barton Street Railway Station in Hamilton, Ontario. She worked as a nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital her whole life.
A proud Irish immigrant who embraced Canada as her home, Pearl dedicated her life to serving others. She became a devoted and active member of the community as a volunteer on many City and Church Committees, holding several key positions at the same time including Chairperson, President, Vice President and Treasurer to mention a few:

Given her dedicated involvement in the Hamilton Community, Pearl was awarded Irish Person of the Year in 1990.
Pearl inspired her children to embrace their faith, heritage and country. She was a lifelong member of the Irish Canadian Club from 1979 – 2001. Within that time she also held positions as Corresponding Secretary and Public Relations Representative. She was a gifted singer and shared her love of music as a member of the Irish Canadian Ladies Choir and St. John’s RC Church Choir.
Known for her compassion and generous spirit, she leaves a lasting legacy of love, faith, and community.
Cremation to follow. Mass and Luncheon will be held at St. Joseph’s Villa in January 2026.
