Susan Jean Bachiu

March 7, 1961 - September 9, 2026

Surrounded by her family, Susan Jean Bachiu passed away peacefully at Juravinski Hospital on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at the age of 65.

She is predeceased by her parents, George and Ramona Bachiu. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Halle Bachiu, her brother and sister-in-law, Steve Bachiu and Maria White, her nephew, Jacob White, and her partner, Alex Ilich. She will be missed by many others.

Born March 7, 1961 in Los Angeles, California, Susan enjoyed travelling the world, cooking and baking, tending to her gardens, and spending time with family and friends. She was a proud and hardworking single-mom to Halle, who she adopted from China in her 41st year of life. Susan was a retired accountant at Harris Rebar and went on to volunteer at Ancaster Community Services and other local shelters. She enjoyed singing at Stoney Creek Baptist Church and was a devoted Christian.

Susan’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Matthew Collins and all the staff at Juranvinski Hospital’s Critical Care Unit and Abington Court Retirement Residence for their wonderful care and compassion.

As per Susan’s request, cremation has taken place and a drop-in style celebration of life will be held at 23 Sundrop Crt in Ancaster on Saturday, October 10, 2026 from 10 am until 2 pm.
