Thomas St. George McNairn

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas St. George McNairn, who passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026, in Hamilton, Ontario, at the age of 82.

Born on April 23, 1944, in Hamilton, Ontario, Tom lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, optimism, and an unwavering dedication to family and friends.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Anne McNairn, with whom he recently celebrated their remarkable 60th wedding anniversary, a milestone reflecting a lifetime of love, partnership, and devotion.

He will be deeply missed by his son, Tom McNairn, and his children Grant and Penny; and by his son, Greg McNairn and wife Deb McNairn, and their children Ryan, Alexander, and Sophie.

Tom also leaves behind his cherished sister, Nancy Scott, as well as his niece Sandra Scott and nephew Tom Scott, along with their families, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

Tom was known for his generous spirit and his readiness to help others. No matter the hour or the distance, he was always willing to lend a hand or offer a ride to someone in need. He freely gave his time to family, friends, and neighbours, asking for nothing in return.

Those who knew Tom will remember his ever-present smile, positive outlook on life, and genuine interest in the lives of others. He had a remarkable ability to make people feel valued and encouraged. He celebrated the accomplishments of others as if they were his own and was always ready with words of support when challenges arose.

One of his greatest joys was supporting his grandchildren in their many activities. Whether it was hockey, baseball, track and field, or any other event, Tom could often be found in the stands cheering them on. He took immense pride in their efforts and accomplishments and rarely missed an opportunity to watch them play.

One of Tom's happiest places was the family cottage on the Bay of Quinte, where he loved bringing family together each summer. Many cherished memories were made there through the years, filled with laughter, stories, shared meals, and the simple joy of being together. For Tom, the cottage was more than a destination; it was a place where family bonds were strengthened and lasting memories were created.

Tom's legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched with his kindness, generosity, and quiet encouragement. He leaves behind treasured memories and a family who will continue to be inspired by his example of love, positivity, and selflessness.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

"A life measured not by years alone, but by the kindness shared, the family cherished, and the lives touched along the way."
