Monica Roshan Jockheck

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Monica Roshan Jockheck on October 1, 2025, at Juravinski Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on December 23, 1968, in York, Ontario, Monica lived a life defined by love, kindness, and generosity of spirit.

Monica was the beloved mother of Paul Augustin (Jennifer Finlay) and cherished grandmother of Andie Augustin, who was the light of her life. She shared her life with her loving partner, Bob Woolcott, and was very close to Bob’s family, who loved her dearly. Monica will also be deeply missed by her brothers David Jockheck (Debbie Murphy) and daughter Tiffany, and Richard Jockheck (Cathy) and their children Hope, Faith (daughter Bridgette), and Michael, as well as her dear friend Anna Thurston. She was predeceased by her devoted parents, Walter Fredrick Jockheck and Gloria Patricia Jockheck.

After completing her studies in Operations Management at Mohawk College, Monica dedicated her professional life to Oakville Hydro, where she worked with commitment and pride from 1989 until her retirement in 2024.

Beyond her career, Monica found joy in traveling, arts and crafts, and spending time with her family and many friends. Above all, she treasured every moment with her granddaughter Andie. She will be remembered as a selfless, caring, genuine, and compassionate woman, a wonderful mother, grandmother, partner, and friend.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Rock Garden Great Room. Cremation has already taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or the World Wildlife Fund in Monica’s memory.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Juravinski Hospital for their exceptional care and support during Monica’s months there.
